Kathmandu, April 5

Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association is organising the sixth Mr Himalaya National Open Bodybuilding Tournament and first Men Fitness and Women Athletic Physiques at the National Sports Council covered hall on Friday and Saturday.

The event will also serve as the selection tournament for the 51st Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships slated for August 22-28 in Seoul, South Korea as well as the ninth WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships which will be organised in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from October 2-8, informed Association President Rajesh Babu Shrestha at a press meet today.

The championship features six weight categories — 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and above-75kg — with winners from all the sections making it to the finals.

The overall champion will earn Rs 275,000. The winners, runners-up and third place finishers in all weight categories as well as men’s fitness and women’s athletic physiques sections will get Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Also, president Shrestha and Jagadamba Steels Pvt Ltd Brand Manager Binod Joshi signed an agreement for the sponsorship of the event.
