NSC lashes on Thapa
KATHMANDU: The National Sports Council (NSC) on Monday said the statement of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) president Ganesh Thapa during a felicitation programme in Kathmandu has drawn the attention of NSC. The head of the football’s governing body severely criticised NSC and their officials for suspending the four-time South Asian Games gold medallist Deepak Bista during a felicitation programme organised by the Lions Club of Kathmandu Horizon on Monday. “Thapa has crossed his limitations criticising the sports governing body and it’s officials irresponsibly,” NSC said in a release today. — HNS
Maharjan appointed
KATHMANDU: National Sports Council (NSC) have appointed their member Min Krishna Maharjan as an acting treasurer of the sports governing body. NSC appointed Maharjan for the post as treasurer Amar Chandra Anil have not showed up at his office for a long time, informed the NSC on Tuesday.
Bhandari wins bronze
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Navaraj Bhandari has won bronze medal at the recently held World Muay Thai Championships in Bangkok. Bhandari won 75kg weight category bronze in the March 18-26 event where seven Nepali Muai Thai players participated, informed the Nepal Martial Arts Games Committee President Krishna Bahadur Balal. Meanwhile, Sudeep Chhetri and Nirmal Pahari passed the referee seminar held on the sidelines of the event. Sudeep also officiated in the tournament as a referee.
