NBSA Clinic kicks off

Kathmandu, November 15

Nepal Baseball and Softball Association is organising the third annual Baseball/Softball Clinic at the Budhanilkantha School from November 14-18.

More than 150 children from six schools of the valley — Budhanilkantha School, Malpi International School, Gyanodaya School, British Gurkha School, Holy Garden School and Santawana School — are taking part in the clinic conducted by 10 professional coaches from  Tennessee, USA, informed NBSA in a release on Tuesday.

The boys are learning the techniques of baseball, while the girls are being taught the skills of softball.

Apart from school children, 50 professional players from Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal Armed Police Force Club are receiving advanced training in the clinic. The coaches have been conducting three sessions of two hours each daily.

After three days of clinic, the U-15 and senior national teams will play three rounds of baseball matches, while the women’s team will play softball games at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor on the final two days on November 17-18.

The NBSA, with the help of the coaches from Tennessee, has trained more than 300 students in the past two years.
