Nebico gifts karateka Shrestha the Tata Tripper

KATHMANDU: Nebico Pvt Ltd today handed over a Tata tripper worth around Rs three million for the two-time SAF Games karate gold medallist Deepak Shrestha here today.

Nebico presented the gift to the renowned Nepali karateka for his national and international achievement and his contribution to the sport. "By honouring a player, we want to motivate future stars," said Prajwol Karki, Chairman of Nebico Board of Directors. Speaking on the occasion, President of the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum Niranjan Rajbanshi thanked Nebico for their initiative to honour a player. Chairman of the Growing Pvt Ltd Raj Bahadur Singh handed over the key of the Tata tripper to Shrestha.

Referring to the All Nepal Football Association, who has in the past gifted prominent footballers with Yaris cars, Rajbanshi said, "This gift (Tata tripper) is even more greater than the cars players have received in the past. It will help a player find a way to earn. I hope Nebico will continue with their support in the future as well."

Meanwhile, Maharjan Nirman Sewa Samiti also presented Shrestha a Pulsar motorcycle on the occasion. Proprietor of the Maharjan Nirman Sewa Samiti Birendra Maharjan handed over the key of the motorcycle to the karateka. "This is just a simple gift in recognition to the player's contribution to the nation," said Maharjan.

Speaking on the occasion, Shrestha thanked all individuals and associations for their support during his career. "I have won several gold medals during my career but I value the media support for their motivation the most," added Shrestha.
