Nepal down to 188th position in FIFA ranking

KATHMANDU: Nepal have fallen six positions down in the latest FIFA ranking published on Thursday, without any change in its points.

According to FIFA, Nepal have de-escalated to the 188th position this month with 77 points (76.73), six positions down from their last place.

Nepal, however, have not played any match that had affected their ranking in the last month.

The top five positions in the ranking remain unchanged with Argentina on the top with a score of 1585 points (1584.61). Belgium are at second position with 1401 points (1400.86) followed by Colombia with 1331 points (1330.63) at third, Germany at fourth with 1319 points (1319.48) and Chile at fifth position with 1316 points (1316.3).

After clenching the Euro 2016 title for the first time, Portugal climbed two positions up and reached the sixth position with 1266 points (1265.74).

Among the South Asian nations, Afghanistan stand at 150th position with 206 points (206.45),  India at 152nd position with 200 points (199.97), Maldives at 174th position with 115 points (114.85),and Bangladesh stand at 183rd position with 85 points (84.52), above Nepal.

Meanwhile, Bhutan at 192nd position with 64 points (63.75), Sri Lanka at 193rd position with 58 points (58.28) and Pakistan at 194th position with 54 points (53.9) are below Nepal.
