KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 3

Nepal has secured a place in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by eight wickets in an intense match held in Mulpani Cricket Ground, today.

Batting first, UAE set a target of 135 runs for Nepal to chase. In response, Nepal's opener, Aasif Sheikh, played a remarkable inning, scoring 64 runs off 51 balls, including two sixes and six fours. Captain Rohit Paudel contributed 35 runs with one six and three fours, while Gulshan Jha added 22 runs to the total.

Nepal comfortably achieved the target in just 17 overs, securing its place in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. It was an excellent team effort, with noteworthy contributions from Kushal Malla, Sandeep Lamichhane, Sompal Kami, and Rahit Paudel, who took crucial wickets during UAE's batting.

Nepal's journey in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup qualifiers has been outstanding. They first advanced to the semi-finals from Group 'A,' defeating Singapore and Malaysia with eight wickets and six wickets, respectively. In the semi-final, Nepal faced Oman, where they lost to Oman by just five runs.

The final match will take place on Sunday, pitting Nepal against Oman in a highly anticipated showdown.
