KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 3

The Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) has intensified preparations to ensure Nepal's athletes perform strongly at the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi–Nagasaki, Japan, scheduled from September 19 to October 4.

NOC President Jeevan Ram Shrestha made the remarks during an interaction program on Monday organized by the NOC with sports journalists, emphasizing that Nepal's participation must be achievement-oriented. He said the committee is committed to providing all possible support to athletes and has awarded scholarships to selected participants.

"There is not much time left for the preparation of the Nepali team. The NOC is fully committed to providing all possible support," President Shrestha said, stressing the importance of focused preparation ahead of the Games.

Highlighting the role of media, President Shrestha added that special arrangements would be made to facilitate information sharing on athletes and events, and expressed the committee's expectation of constructive cooperation from journalists.

During the program, journalists raised questions and offered suggestions regarding Nepal's preparations, while the NOC assured that all efforts are underway to ready the athletes for the continental event.
