Nepal APF, Far-west record victories

Nepal APF Club and Far-western Region recorded wins in the PM Cup National Women’s Cricket Tournament here at the DVM Global Academy in Itahari today.

APF defeated Western by 66 runs in Group A match, while Far-west outplayed Central by two wickets in Group B match.

Opting to bat first, APF — who beat Mid-western by 113 runs on Saturday — posted 111-3 in 20 overs riding on Sita Rana Magar’s unbeaten 47 off 45. Ritu Kanojiya scored 28-ball 27 not out. Magar and Kanojiya hit three fours each. Mamta Chaudhary, who struck two boundaries, contributed 22 off 38 balls.

In reply, Western were packed for a paltry 45 runs in 10 overs as Saraswoti Pun top scored with 16 off 30 balls that included a boundary. Player-of-the-match Sita Rana Magar and Sarita Magar picked up two wickets each for APF.

The result meant APF advanced to the semi-final as group winners, while Western, who had defeated Mid-western in their opening match, finished as group runners-up to make it last four.

In day’s another match, Central were bowled out for 71 in 20 overs after being put into bat first. Shanti Khatiwada top scored with 13 off 19 balls for Central. Rekha Rawal, Sushma Bista and Anjali Chand claimed two wickets each for Far-western.

In reply, Far-west reached 72-8 in 19.1 overs. Anjali Chand top scored with 13 off 14 with the help of a boundary.
