Nepal APF off to winning start
KATHMANDU: Hosts Nepal APF Club defeated Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre in straight sets in the inaugural match of the APF IGP fourth Open Women’s Volleyball Tournament here on Sunday.
In the Group A match, APF thrashed Jawalakhel 25-20, 25-9, 25-12 to start the tournament with an easy win. APF’s Hira KC won the player-of-the-match award. A total of six teams are competing in the league-cum-knock out tournament. APF, Jawalakhel and New Diamond Academy are in Group A, while Nepal Police Club, Western Region and Tribhuvan Army Club are in Group B.
Top three teams will receive Rs 250,000, Rs 125,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Likewise, the best spiker, server, defender, blocker, setter and coach will be rewarded with Rs 5,000 each.
