Nepal climb five-position up, Germany named FIFA Team of the Year

KATHMANDU: Nepal National Football Team has climbed five-position up in this month's FIFA Ranking, which are based on results over a four-year period, published on Thursday.

According to world football governing body FIFA, Nepal climbed to 171th position in this month ranking with 102 points.

Meanwhile, Germany have been crowned the Team of the Year by FIFA after finishing on top of the World Ranking at the end of 2017.

India, top ranked teams among the South Asian countries, remained static on 105th position in today's ranking. However, Island nations Maldives have climbed one position up to 155th rank.

The Land of Dargon, Bhutan have improved their ranking and moved three positions up to 187th in this month's ranking.

Likewise, Bangladesh have slipped one position down to 197th where as Sri Lanka fell two spots down to 200th rank.

Similarly, Pakistan occupies the bottom spot, in the South Asian countries, on 201th rank in the world football.

World Champions Germany retains the top spot at the pinnacle of the world football followed by Brazil, Portugal, Argentina and Belgium make up the top five ranked nations in the world.

Meanwhile, Spain, Poland, Switzerland, France and Chile are ranked top ten teams in the world.
