Nepal close to lifting U-15 Cup

Kathmandu, June 7 :

Nepal were in a commanding position against the UAE in the final of the ACC U-15 Cup (Elite Group) cricket tournament in Kuala Lumpur.

Electing to bat, Nepal declared their first innings at 177-7, riding on Suvendu Pandey’s half century (51) and skipper Prithu Baskota’s 35. Akash Pariyar (22), Pradeep Airee (21), Santosh Bhatta (11) and Surendra Chand (10) chipped in with valuable runs. Nepal then reduced the UAE to 69-8 at close. Manish Kishore Dhakan scored 36 runs and Aqib Malik added 14 for the UAE.

Krishna Karki was once again the pick of the Nepali bowlers taking three wickets which took his personal tally to 20 wickets in the tournament. Rochak Bhatta, Pradeep Airee and Vivek Dali claimed one wickets each.

Nepal earned six points — four from bowling and two from batting — and the UAE got three points.
