KATHMANDU, JULY 19

Nepal defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in today's match of the ACC Women's Asia Cup Cricket Tournament 2024.

In the recently concluded match at the Dambulla International Stadium in Sri Lanka, Nepal had a strong start, winning by six wickets. Chasing a target of 116 runs, Nepal achieved victory in 16.1 overs with the loss of four wickets.

Samjhana Khadka was the top scorer for Nepal with an impressive 72 runs, hitting 11 fours in her 45-ball innings.

Rubina Chhetri contributed 10 runs, while Sita Rana Magar and Puja Mahato added seven runs each. For the UAE, Kavisha Egodage took three wickets and Lavanya Kenny took one wicket.

After losing the toss and being invited to bat first, the UAE scored 115 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Indu Barma was the standout bowler for Nepal, taking three wickets, while Kritika Marasini, Sabnam Rai, and Kabita Joshi each took one wicket.

Nepal is set to play its second match against Pakistan on July 21.
