KATHMANDU, JULY 22
Nepal suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Namibia in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on Tuesday.
Chasing a modest target of 158 runs, Namibia comfortably reached 160-2 in 37.4 overs. Jan Frylinck led the chase with an unbeaten 78 off 89 balls, while opener Michael van Lingen scored 51. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton remained unbeaten on 17.
For Nepal, captain Rohit Paudel and Nandan Yadav claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, Nepal were bowled out for 157 runs in 46.5 overs after being sent in to bat. Rohit top-scored with 31 runs, while Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 30. Gulshan Jha made 20, Karan KC added 18 and Aasif Sheikh scored 16.
Namibia's JJ Smit starred with the ball, taking six wickets, while Jack Brassell and Bernard Scholtz picked up two wickets each.
Nepal will next face hosts the Netherlands at the same venue on Thursday.
