Nepal handed berth in global qualifiers

KATHMANDU: The International Cricket Council on Monday released the T20 World Cup qualifying road map with Nepal getting their place directly in the global qualifiers.

The 2014 World T20 finalists, Nepal along with the UAE, Singapore and Zimbabwe have been drawn in the global qualifiers which will be joined by six regional qualifiers and four bottom teams from the 2021 WorldT20.

The global qualifiers, slated for February and May 2022, will send four teams into the World Cup to be held in Australia in 2023.

According to the ICC, a total of 86 nations will play 225 T20 International over the period of 13 months.
