Nepal to play friendly against India
Kathmandu, May 17
Nepal and India are set to play an international friendly match in Mumbai on June 6.
The match will be a part of preparation for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers for both the teams as Nepal are slated to take on Yemen on June 13 at the Nepal APF Club Ground in Halchowk, Kathmandu, while India face Kyrgyz Republic on the same date.
Nepal, who are in Group F along with the Philippines, Yemen and Tajikistan, will play their second match against Yemen. Nepal lost their away match against the Philippines 4-1 on March 28, while Yemen defeated Tajikistan 2-1 in their first match.
On the other hand, India, who are in Group A along with Macau, Myanmar and Kyrgyz Republic, had defeated Myanmar in their opening match of the group.
A total of 24 teams have been divided into six groups with the winners and runners-up making it to the finals of the competition to be held in the United Arab Emirates in 2019.
Nepal’s Japanese head coach Gyotoki Koji, who has called 32 players in the camp, has been conducting training for last two weeks to prepare for the clash against Yemen.
