Nepal to participate in Nadezhda Cup

LALITPUR: The women’s national football team will participate in the Nadezhda Cup slated for September 8-12 in Kyrgyzstan.

Four teams — Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan — will compete in the round-robin tournament to be played in Karakol city of Issyk-Kul region, informed the All Nepal Football Association on Tuesday.

The ANFA has taken the tournament as the preparation for the 13th South Asian Games to be held in Kathmandu and Pokhara from December 1-10.

Nepal will open the campaign with a match against Kyrgyzstan on September 8 and face Uzbekistan the following day. Nepal will take on Tajikistan on September 10.

Top two sides will make it to the final, while other two teams will play third-place playoff match on September 12.
