KATHMANDU: The Nepal national football team will play two friendly matches against India at the Dasharath Stadium next month.

According to the All Nepal Football Association, the matches will be played on September 2 and September 5 as part of their preparations for the SAFF Championship to be held in October.

The South Asian Football Federation is yet to decide the venue of the SAFF Championship. Nepal and India last played at the Dasharath Stadium in 2015 and the two sides settled for a goalless draw in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

In their 19 meetings, India have recorded wins in 13 matches, while Nepal have registered two victories. Nepal last beat India 2-1 in the SAFF Championship at the Dasharath Stadium in 2013. Both the teams are also qualified for the final round qualifying of the 2022 AFC Asian Cup.
