Nepal triumphs over Myanmar
KATHMANDU: The Nepali U-16 cricket team bagged a win by 337 runs against Myanmar in the group stage match of the Asian Cricket Council U16 Eastern Region Cricket Tournament underway in Thailand.
Nepal won the toss and handed a target of 350 runs in 35.6 overs at the loss of all wickets whereas Myanmar managed to score only 13 runs in 11.3 overs to suffer a huge defeat.
With this win, Nepal has made it to semi-finals becoming the group winner.
Narayan Joshi and Mekh Bahadur Sen Thapa took four wickets each for Nepal; Thapa conceded four runs and Joshi one run with two maidens in each three overs. Likewise, Bishal Bikram KC picked up one wicket.
Captain of the Nepali squad, Rit Gautam and batsman Tritraj Das partnered a total of 99 runs with Gautam making 106 runs not out off 78 balls including four boundaries, and Das scored 64 runs from 29 balls including three sixes and seven fours.
