KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 12

Opener Anil Sah and Bhim Sharki hit centuries, sharing a record unbeaten 189-run partnership for Nepal in ODIs, propelling Nepal to a clean sweep of the three-match series with a nine-wicket victory in the series final on Monday.

Chasing 232 runs for victory, Anil Sah and Bhim Sharki scored unbeaten 112 and 101 runs respectively, taking the team home with 33 balls to spare at the full-house TU Ground today.

Nepal invited Canada to bat first after winning the toss before restricting them to 232/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Debutant Hemant Dhami took three wickets, Kushal Malla grabbed two wickets, while Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi and Aakash Chand chipped in with a wicket each.

Canada batsman Navneet Dhaliwal top-scored with 50 runs off 83 balls, and Nikhil Dutta contributed 45 runs, while skipper Saad Bin Zafar scored 31.

In reply, Nepal met the target of 233 in 45 overs with the loss of one wicket.

Opener Ani Sah was later awarded the man-of-the-match for his brilliant match-winning innings. Shahid Ahmadzai took one Nepali wicket of Kushal Bhurtel. Skipper Rohit Paudel was awarded the man-of-the-series award.

Earlier, Nepal had won by seven runs and four wickets in the first and second match of the series.
