U-15 team to go to SL

LALITPUR: Nepal U-15 football team is on Thursday leaving for Sri Lanka to take part in the SFT South Asia-Japan U-16 Football Exchange Programme.

Nepal are slated to play against Bhutan U-16 on March 11, before facing Japan U-15 team the following day. Nepal will wrap up the tourney with a match against hosts Sri Lanka U-16  team on March 14. Nepali team comprises of 18 players and six officials.

Siddhanta Rana Magar and Roshan Thapa are goalkeepers, while Deepak Bhandara, Padam Bhattarai, Randip Paudel, Sanjib Aryal and Roshan Dong are defenders. Karlosh Bhakhariya, Prithivi Chaudhary, Pukar Khadka, Roshan Rana Magar, Sanju Shrestha, Saugat Khawas and Shishir Lekhi are midfielders whereas Abhishek Shrestha, Birjesh Chaudhary, Ranjan Pun and Shyrab Lo Tamang are forwards. Head coach Sunil Shrestha, development coaches Sanoj Shrestha and Nabin Maharjan, team manager Madhusudan Upadhyay, physiotherapist Raju Dahal and technical director Chiaki Takeda will accompany the players to Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, ANFA President Narendra Shrestha and other officials bade farewell to the team at the ANFA Complex on Wednesday.
