NVA, City Travels ink MoU for Volleyball Award

Kathmandu, January 20

Nepal Volleyball Association and City Travels and Tours Pvt Ltd signed a three-year agreement for the NVA Award slated for Monday.

NVA President Manoranjan Raman Sharma and City Travels and Tours Director Shir Bahadur Tamang signed the Memorandum of Understanding amidst a programme today. As per the agreement, City Travels will provide the NVA with Rs 1.5 million in three years. Tamang handed over the cheque of Rs 350,000 for the first edition of the award. City Travels and Tours will provide the NVA with Rs 400,000 for the second edition and Rs 300,000 for the third edition.

Sharma said the association had lots of helping hands and the sponsorship came because of the hard works of the NVA team. He also informed that the NVA was all set to sign another agreement with Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on Sunday.

City Travels and Tours Director Tamang said he was happy for getting the opportunity to sponsor the first award of volleyball after the sport was named the national game by the government. “This is just a beginning and we signed a three-year agreement today. We are ready to support the sport in every possible way in the days to come,” said Tamang.

Meanwhile, NVA General Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand informed that the association will honour the best players, emerging players, coaches and teams in both men and women sections in the award programme. “We are also honouring 40 organizations who have contributed in the development of volleyball,” he added. The best teams will get Rs 50,000 each, while the best players and coaches will be awarded with Rs 25,000 each. The emerging players will receive Rs 15,000 apiece.
