Nepal win over Sri Lanka 1-0 to make 3 in row

KATHMANDU: Nepal ended the group stage of the SAFF Women's Championship with all three victories as they defeated Sri Lanka 1-0, in Siliguri of India on Friday.

Sri Lanka's Gunawardane scored an own goal in the 87th minute, letting Nepal to with the struggling match played at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri of India today.*

Earlier, Nepal had edged Bhutan 8-0 and the Maldives 9-0 on Monday and Wednesday respectively.

With the straight victories, Nepal topped the Group A table to ensure their semifinal berth.

Now, Nepal will face the Group B runners-up--either India or Bangladesh--in the Monday semifinal.

The hosts India are the current defending champions of the regional title.
