KATHMANDU: Nepali shuttlers Praful Maharjan, Prince Dahal, Jessica Gurung and Rashila Maharjan faced defeats at the hands of Indonesia in the second round of the Badminton Asia U-15 and U-17 Championship in Myanmar on Thursday.

In the U-17 boys’ singles match, Maharjan lost 21-10, 21-11 against Mohamed Yousuf Moulana. He had entered the second round with a 21-16, 21-5 victory over Lat Kya Len. In girls’ singles, Gurung faced a 21-6, 21-8 defeat against K Devi. In U-15 tournament, Dahal won the first set 21-15 before losing the next two sets 15-21, 16-21 against Mohammed Sultan Noorabi, while Maharjan faced a 11-21, 3-21 loss against Vidjaja Stephen.

The Nepali players will now contest in mixed doubles category.
