Players off to HK

KATHMANDU: A 16-member taekwondo team on Wednesday left for Hong Kong to compete in the 21st Asian Cities Taekwondo Championship slated for April 22-24. A total of 12 players will represent Nepal in the championship.

Bikesh Bidari (74kg), Mishan Raskoti (58kg), Sumitra Khatri (73kg), Sagar Timilsina (68kg), Robin Rai (54kg), Amrit Thapa (63kg) and Akash Pun (68kg) will compete in senior category. Suprima Bajgain (29kg), Dakshin Shahi Thakuri (42kg), Sujan Gurung (45kg), Prakash Thapa (54kg) will compete in junior section, while Surjan Shrestha will take part in the above-30 poomsae category. Coach Kumar Lama Ghising, referee Norbu Lama and team managers Rajib Shrestha and Raju Khadka also accompanied the players to Hong Kong.
