Neric, Valley Public win titles
Kathmandu, November 27
Neric Academy won the senior boys’ section title of the 16th Wilson Hoops Inter-school Basketball Tournament here today.
Neric defeated Pushpasadan School 43-32 in the final played at the Wilson Academy courts. Prateek Shrestha of Pushpasadan was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament in senior boys’ category. Similarly, Valley Public won the girls’ section trophy. Valley Public defeated New Vision 34-18 in the final. Laxmi Shrestha of New Vision was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the tournament in girls’ section.
In junior boys’ category, Mahamanjushree defeated People’s 47-31 to claim the title. Mahesh Khadka of Mahamanjushree won the Most Valuable Player’s award. Likewise, Mahamanjushree beat Apex Life School 21-13 in staff section final. Jiwan Bhattarai of Mahamanjushree was named the MVP.
Kathmandu International Study Centre, Gaurishankar School, Sanskriti School and Holy Vision School won the fair play award in senior boys, girls, junior boys and staff categories respectively. Member of Parliament Udaya Shumsher Rana handed over the prizes to the winners of the annual tournament organised by Wilson Academy.
