Kathmandu, January 24

Shivam New Diamond Academy defeated Springdale English School to move at the top of the table of the 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament here at the Dhorpatan Volleyball Training Centre courts today.

NDA thrashed Springdale in straight sets to win their seventh consecutive match and moved to the first position with 21 points. Nepal APF Club, who are also unbeaten in the league so far, have 18 points from six matches and slipped to second position. NDA took the first set 25-7 before Springdale could earn one and three points in the next two sets respectively.

Meanwhile, Tops HS School thrashed Paramount High School in straight sets to take their winning streak to four matches. Tops saw off Paramount High School 25-10, 25-7, 25-7 and accumulated 12 points. Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club also have 12 points each.

Shree Gaun Sports Development Committee saw off New Diamond Sports Club 25-4, 25-16, 25-10 to record their third victory in the competition.

A total of six matches were scheduled for Wednesday and three games were postponed due to rain. The three matches — Paramount vs Eastern Regional Volleyball Association, Nepal APF Club vs Tribhuvan Army Club and Tops vs Springdale — will now be played on January 29.
