KATHMANDU: Nisha Hamal of Kathmandu and Ambika Poudel of Tanhaun reached the women’s open quarter-finals of the first Rupak Memorial Cup Budo-kaido Full-contact Nationwide weight-category Nepali Martial Art Tournament here on Friday. Binita Ghalan of Satdobato and Shanti Lama of Kathmandu also advanced to the quarter-finals in the category. In the men’s 30kg weight category, Suresh KC of Lalitpur, Sajan Bhattarai of Tanahun, Indra Tamang of Chaughare, Sujit Gopali and Mandip Gopali of Thankot, Sushanta Sundash and Rajesh Thapa of Kathmandu and Sandesh Hamal of Ketahiti made it to the round of eight. Sunrise Chaurasiya, Jenish Thapa Magar and Rajan Lama of Kavre, Mech Bahadur Karki, Rajesh Bhatta and Bipin Thapa of Kathmandu, Rabindra Thapaliya of Bhaktapur and Man Bahadur Lama of Dhading entered the 40kg quarter-finals.
