JHAPA: Nepal Police Club and Western Region began the third National Men’s Volleyball League with wins here on Thursday. NPC defeated Dhorpatan Volleyball Club 3-0 in the inaugural match, while Western beat Central Region by the same margin. Kul Bahadur Thapa of NPC and Dipendra Shrestha of Western won the man-of-the-match awards. A total of nine teams are taking part in the four-day tournament. Top three teams will earn Rs 315,000, Rs 157,000 and Rs 110,000 respectively. Earlier, Vice-president Nanda Kishor Pun inaugurated the tournament organised by Nepal Volleyball Association and Bihani Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited.
