KATHMANDU: Nepal Judo Association (NJA) is organising the Ambika Memorial first Open Weight Judo Championships here on February 10. The NJA is oraganising the event in memory of its former vice-president Ambika Bahadur Chhetry who died on February 6 last year. His family is sponsoring the tournament. The event includes only two categories - men’s open (above 60kg) and women’s open (above 48kg). Top three players in both the section will receive Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively. Pramod Bahadur Chhetry, son of late Ambika Bahadur, handed over sponsorship amount Rs 150,000 to NJA treasurer Bipin Prasad Shrestha on Thursday.
