Khadka features in ICC’s list of 11 brightest stars
The International Cricket Council on Tuesday named Nepali national cricket team skipper Paras Khadka as one of the 11 brightest stars in the group stage matches of the ICC World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe.
Khadka was picked up for his consistency in batting. He scored 40 runs against Zimbabwe, 63 runs against Scotland and 75 runs against Afghanistan. But unfortunately, Nepal lost all three matches.
Khadka scored 11 runs against Hong Kong as Nepal went on to win the match riding on brilliant knocks from Rohit Kumar Paudel and Sompal Kami. Ireland’s William Porterfield, Papua New Guinea’s Tony Ura, Scotland’s Calum MacLeod, Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor and Sikander Raza, Hong Kong’s Anshuman Rath and Ehsan Khan, United Arab Emirates’ Rohan Mustafa, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi and West Indies’ Jason Holder are others in the list.
After missing the Super Six stage, Nepal will face Papua New Guinea in the playoff match on Thursday.
