Khadka, Shahi honoured

DHANGADHI: Dhruba Tara School of Kailali on Friday honoured Nepali national cricket team skipper Paras Khadka and Dhangadhi Cricket Academy President Subash Shahi for their contribution in the development of cricket in the country.

School’s founder Yogendra Malla handed over letter of appreciation to Khadka and Shahi during a programme. “Far-west has produced numbers of national players and I hope it will continue with the rise of cricket activities. Dhangadhi has already been declared the city of cricket,” said Khadka.

Similarly, Shahi said development of cricket in the country was possible if everybody worked as a unit. “We are in a campaign of creating an environment where a kid wants to be a cricketer rather than choosing doctor or engineer as a profession,” said Shahi. “Sagarmatha Cement Dhangadhi Premier League is the first step towards prosperity and we have a long way to go.”
