Pariyar, Khatri clinch title

Kathmandu, May 4

The pair of Jitendra Pariyar and Santosh Khatri won the men’s doubles title of the sixth Citizens Bank Open Tennis Tournament here today.

In the final, Pariyar and Khatri defeated Anil Shahi and Pradeep  Khadka 6-4, 6-3. Pariyar, who has also advanced to men’s singles final, will take on Kamal Bhandari, while Prerana Koirala will play against Ira Rawat in women’s singles final today.

Meanwhile, Krishna Raj Ghale won the above-45 veteran singles title beating Binod Gurung 6-0, 6-1. Ghale teamed up with Suwarna Dhakwa and they won above-45 veteran doubles title with a 1-6, 6-2 (10-2) victory over Sudarshan Bista and Raju Chhetri.

In above-35 veteran doubles, Shree  Ram Magar and Sobhitman Shrestha saw off the pair of Chandra Shahi and Raju Shrestha 2-6, 6-2 (11-9). In above-55, the duo of Manoj Rana and Chhyamba Dandup beat the pair of Karim Mullah and Rajendra Singh Bhandari 6-1, 6-2.
