Pilgrims defend water polo title

Pilgrims defended their title at the third Hyatt Regency Kathmandu Water Polo Tournament beating Ideal 1-0. The one-day tournament was organised by Club Oasis at Hyatt Regency under the sponsorship of Himalayan Distillery. Earlier in the semi-finals, Pilgrims defeated Voice of Women 4-3 and Ideal beat T-Boys 3-2 on penalties. General Manager at Hyatt Regency Harinder Singh and manager of Club Oasis Dr PK Shaji gave away prizes to the winners. Pilgrims, led by Norbu Dhondup, had Karma ST Lama, Tsering Dhondup, Jamyang Tashi, Jigdel Lama and Nima Tenzing as the other players. Nasiv Rai led the Ideal team with Saurav Tamang, Rabindra Karki, Sunil Shrestha, Sushil Nepal and Namgyal Lama. In all, 11 teams, including four teams — VOW, Suzzana, Sushila Koirala Memorial Hospital and Hyatt Regency ‘B’ — having ladies players, took part in the event.
