PM felicitates Nepal football team for Bangabandhu win

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Thursday felicitated the Nepal national football team which won the Bangabandhu Gold Cup in Bangladesh last week.

The Prime Minister had invited members of the winning team at his official residence in Baluwatar for a lunch meeting this afternoon.

Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal, Officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and National Sports Council were present on the occasion.

The team, on Friday last week, had won the Cup giving an end to the 23-year trophy drought of Nepali football.

Speaking at the felicitation function, Oli urged the football players to let him get chance to felicitate them always.  

Urging the players to add skills, capabilities and discipline in them, he expressed his commitment to implement the recommendations of National Sports Council (NSC) to avail the each player of the winning team Rs 200,000.
