Prajwol Pradhan cruised to the men’s open quarter-finals with a 9-6, 9-5, 10-9 win over Surendra Silwal at the fourth National Open Squash Tournament here today.

Chitiz Gurung bounced back from two sets down to beat Krishna Thapa 8-10, 6-9, 9-6, 9-5, 9-6 in the women’s league match. Likewise, Raju Pratap KC overcame Bhusan Krishna Shrestha 2-9, 9-1, 9-3, 9-3 in the veterans’ league match. Robin Gurung, Basudev Lama and Kiran Maharjan entered the semi-finals of the novice section. Robin beat Anil Narsingh Shakya 9-0, 8-10, 9-3, 9-7, Basudev edged out Binod Ratna Shakya 10-8, 6-9, 9-0, 6-9, 9-5, and Kiran easd past Rajendra Tuladhar 9-1, 9-7, 9-1.

Rajendra Ghimire registered a 9-0, 9-4, 9-1 win over Kiran Shrestha in the Plate Championship match. Winners in the other Plate Championship matches included Lal Bahadur Gurung and Anil Bajracharya. Lal Bahadur defeated Randhir Singh 7-9, 9-1, 9-1, 9-3 and Anil thrashed Mahendra Lal Maharjan 9-2, 9-5, 9-1.
