Kathmandu, September 9

Pranay Shahi of Gymkhana won the title of the second Mr Kathmandu Bodybuilding Championship today.

Shahi, who won the above-75kg weight category to make it to the final round, left behind other four contestants to be the champion.

Awaj Pyakurel (winner of 55kg) of Muscles Mania Fitness Club, Ramesh Karki (60kg) of New Flex and Fitness, Suresh Munikar (65kg) and Amit Kumar Mandal (70kg) of Muscles and Fitness were also in the race after winning their respective weight category events.

Shahi claimed Rs 100,000 for being the overall champion and Rs 10,000 for winning his weight category gold medal. Top three contestants in all weight categories got Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.

Meanwhile, Rajina Shrestha of Nepal Byayam Mandir won the second Women’s Fitness event, while Shobha Manadhar of Muscles World and Sandhya Shrestha of Shapes to Fitness and Gym finished second and third respectively.

Damodar Shrestha of Fitness First won the first Mr Kathmandu Junior Championship, while John Bhandari of New Bulls Gym and Sujan Gurung of Flex Gym came second and third respectively. Top three contestants in women and junior categories got Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. The event was organised by Kathmandu Bodybuilding and Fitness Association.
