Moktan clinches U-9 crown

Lalitpur, August 26

Prasamsha Moktan of Premier International won the U-9 girls’ singles title of the LA-JTI Inter-school Junior Open Tennis Tournament here at Little Angels’ School courts today.

In the final match, Moktan defeated Sunira Thapa of St Mary’s 4-2, 4-1.

Saksham Bikram Shah of Little Angels’ and Ayushman Ghale of John Dewey entered the boys’ section final. Shah defeated his schoolmate Ayush Rai 4-1, 4-0 and Ghale beat Nepal Police School’s Slok Khadka 4-2, 4-1 in the semi-final matches.

In U-12 girls’ section, Rayana Shah of Ace saw off Shubhangee Laxmi Shah of LA 6-2, 6-1 and St Xavier’s Isha Shree Shah defeated Sarbhana Shrestha of Rato Bangala 6-0, 6-3 and made it to the final. Nepal Police’s Chirag Timalsina and Nischal Adhikari as well as Pritam Pariyar of Bishwo Niketan and Aditya Subedi of Aksharaa sailed into the semi-finals in U-12 boys’ category.

Similarly, Nepal Police’s Manthan Joshi and Prasiddha Basnet as well as Pranav Manadhar of Kasthamandap, Jandeep Giri of AIA Tennis Academy, Ayushman Ghale of John Dewey, Rajbir Pradhan of Central School, Shreeyog Adhikari of United Academy and Saksham Bikram Shah of LA entered the U-10 boys’ singles quarter-finals.

Ibha Adhikari of St Mary’s, Roshani Limbu of Loyalty Academy, Prasamsha Moktan of Premier and Samriddhi Shrestha of Malpi advanced to girls’ singles semi-finals.
