Proteas look to wrap up series

Bridgetown, April 20:
Shaun Pollock said South Africa was keen to win the third Test against West Indies starting on Thursday and close out the series, even though he’s not guaranteed to play. South Africa led the four-Test series 1-0 after winning the second Test by eight wickets in Trinidad last week.
“We will be playing for a victory and hoping to take the series here in Barbados,” Pollock said. “The pressure is now on the West Indies. We will be looking to play our style of cricket and maintain our game plan.” Pollock joined the team on Monday after inflammation in his ankle kept him out of South Africa’s last four Tests.
Despite 3,120 runs and a national-best 377 wickets in 93 Tests, he had to convince coach Ray Jennings he was fit and good enough to be recalled. South Africa’s main concern leading up to the Test has been Jacques Rudolph, who injured his back while bowling in the nets on Friday. On standby for Rudolph was Boeta Dippenaar.
