PYC defeat Times Club

Kathmandu, September 24:

Public Youth Campus (PYC), Chitwan, Rupandehi and Sambotta Alumni Association won the men’s section matches at the Samsung National Basketball Championship.

PYC bounced back from a four-point deficit in the final quarter to beat Times Club 52-49. Times were leading 36-32 by the end of the third quarter but PYC netted 20 to just 13 of Times in the final quarter. Sanjay Prajapati scored 13 points for PYC.

Raju Maharjan scored 32 as Chitwan beat Makawanpur 85-26 while Kaski defeated Rupandehi 58-43. Sambotta got walkover from Shrine. RIBS, Golden Gate, Times, PYC, Kaski, Rupandehi, Himalayan White House and Nepal Basketball Academy made it to the quarter-finals.

In the women’s match, RIBS overcame Kaski 47-37 riding on 22 points from Anisha Tulachan. RIBS, Rato Bangala, Bishal Nagar and Prime Sports qualified for the semi-finals.
