Fortune wants to know about Nepali culture
Kathmandu, December 13
English Premier League giants Manchester United Football Club’s former midfielder Quinton Fortune today said he wanted to know about the people, culture and food during his stay in Nepal.
Fortune, who played for the club for seven years from 1999 to 2006, is here to launch Gulf’s new oil products. “I am happy to be in this beautiful country and thanks to Gulf for the opportunity. I am not going to mountains or Mount Everest but want to experience Nepali culture, people and food,” said the African footballer Fortune, who was happy to know that Nepal had more than 1.5 million Manchester United fans.
Fortune, who played under then United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, praised the manager who helped the club win 13 Premier League titles in 26 years. “Ferguson knew how to get the best out of the players and had created family atmosphere. He also used to speak about family members,” he said. Fortune will spent two more days in Nepal and is also scheduled to play futsal besides travelling to some of the famous places.
On Tuesday, Fortune launched Gulf and Manchester United co-branded synthetic lubricants: Gulf Power Trac4T and Gulf UltrasynthX along with Nepal Lube Oil Limited Chairman and Managing Director Arun Kumar Chaudhary and Satyabrata Das, Vice-president, OEM Business Operations at Gulf Oil Lubricants India Limited.
