Kathmandu, February 4

Rajat SJB Rana won the title of the Qatar Airways Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, Rana scored 43 points to finish first. Along with the trophy, Rana received air ticket from Qatar Airways to any destination in the United States of America. He also bagged the closest-to-the-pin trophy.

Pavitra Kumar Karki finished second on count back after he was tied on 39 points with Ujwal Pradhanang. After both the players had earned 18 points on the back nine, the winner was decided with the count of last six holes. Karki emerged victorious with 10 points in the last six holes, while Pradhanang had nine points. Karki received trophy along with air ticket to Doha.

Wangchen Dhondup won the gross section title with 38 points and bagged the most birdies award with four birdies.

He received trophy and open destination air ticket to Europe. Tara Karki Chitrakar claimed women's section trophy with 31 points, while Rekha Ghimire was second with 29 points.

Arjun Kumar Karki lifted senior section title with 36 points. Jaibir Acharya edged past Ashray Basnyat on count back to win the junior category trophy. The junior players were tied on 21 points and the winner was decided on the count of last six holes. Yash SJB Rana won the longest drive award.

A total of 118 golfers took part in the tournament.

Commercial Manager of Qatar Airways Sarik Bogati, Marketing Executive Arnav N Rana, President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan handed over prizes to the winners.
