Tamang, Shrestha claim title

Kathmandu, March 15

Tribhuvan Army Club duo Ratnajit Tamang and Nabin Shrestha won the men's doubles title of the 14th Krishna Mohan Memorial Open Badminton Championship at the Nepal APF Club today.

In final, Tamang and Shrestha duo defeated Nepal APF Club pair of Dipesh Dhami and Bijit Thapa Magar 21-16, 19-21, 22-20.

In women's doubles final, APF's duo Pooja Shrestha and Sichhya Shrestha outplayed TAC's Nangsal Tamang and Anumaya Rai 21-23, 21-14, 21-16. Similarly, APF pair of Pooja Shrestha and Dipesh Dhami beat TAC duo Nangsal Tamang and Ratnajit Tamang 17-21, 21-19, 21-17 to win mixed doubles title.

In boys' U-17 singles final, Darchula's Prince Dahal defeated TAC's Prafull Maharjan 21-14, 21-19.

Lawn Tennis

Pranav Khanal of TAC and Kamal Bhandari of Nepal Police Club won the men's doubles title of the 10th Sahabir Memorial Open Lawn Tennis Championship. In final, Khanal and Bhandari beat Lalitpur's Santosh Khatri and Jitendra Pariyar 4-6, 6-4, 10-5.

Nepal APF Club's Suraj Kumar Shrestha won singles title of the Inter-government Service category, while Kathmandu's Mahesh Shrestha and Chhewang won men's doubles and above-35 veteran doubles titles. Kathmandu's Suwarna Dhakwa and Krishna Raj Ghale claimed the above-45 doubles title.

Volleyball

Shivam New Diamond Academy and Nepal APF Club advanced to the final of the APF IG fifth Open Women's Volleyball Tournament. In the semi-final matches, NDA recorded a 25-10, 25-22, 25-13 victory over NPC, while APF thrashed TAC 25-9, 25-9, 25-10.
