Rawat, Pathange win titles
Lalitpur, September 16
Nepal’s Ira Mehernissa Rawat became girls’ category champion of the Kesha Group ANLTA-Asian Junior Tour U-14 Circuit-II Tournament here at Satdobato Tennis Complex today.
India’s Arnav Pathange won boys’ singles title.
In girls’ all-Nepal title decider, Rawat registered a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Abhilasha Bista.
Rawat had also won the Circuit-I beating Indian opponent Shambhavi Tiwari 6-4, 6-2 on September 9.
Prerana Koirala beat Saloni Tamang 4-1, 4-0 to claim third position in category.
India’s Lakshanya Vishwanath as well as Nepal’s Alsha Regmi, Isha Shree Shah and Sneha Yadav finished on fifth to eighth positions respectively.
In boys’ singles final, Pathange saw off local opponent Samyak Bajracharya 6-1, 6-1. Pathange also had won the title of the Circuit-I with a 6-2, 6-2 win against Aadit Subedi on September 9.
Meanwhile, Subedi won his match 4-0, 4-0 against Aryan Giri in all-Nepal match to be claim third position today.
India’s Shrikant Thakur finished fifth, while Nepal’s Saharsha Chand, Evyak Joshi and Grijesh Man Shrestha finished the tournament on sixth to eighth positions respectively.
On Thursday, Indian pair of Arnav Pathange and Ambitious Goldsmith won boys’ doubles title, while Nepal’s Prerana Koirala paired with Lakshanya Vishwanath claimed girls’ doubles title.
