KATHMANDU: Ministry of Youth and Sports honoured the record breaking four athletes of the eighth President Running Shield here on Thursday.

Western Region’s Bipana Pariyar, who set new national records in triple jump and long jump events in the inter-school competition, received Rs 200,000, while other three athletes — Ajit Kumar Yadav of Central Region and Manju Rawat of Mid-western Region (1,500m) and Tilak Bahadur BK of Mid-western Region (shot put) — were felicitated with Rs 100,000 each.

Pariyar was not present at the programme.

Minister for Youth and Sports Rajendra Kumar KC handed over the cheque and felicitation letters to the athletes.
