Report submitted
KATHMANDU: The 13th South Asian Games Infrastructure Development and Preparation Committee handed its report to Minister for Youth and Sports Jagat Bahadur Sunar on Friday.
The committee, headed by National Sports Council Vice-president Lama Tendi Sherpa, prepared the report with special focus on 25 sports disciplines included in the 13th SA Games slated for March 9-18 next year in Nepal. In its report, the committee has suggested the government to organise archery, volleyball, handball, women’s football and triathlon in Pokhara.
According to the report, cycling could be organised in Kathmandu, Chitwan or Nawalparasi, while Kathmandu can host the remaining sports disciplines. The report has also suggested the government about the maintenance and upgrading of available infrastructure apart from the construction of new ones.
The committee has also mentioned the availability of venues owned by Army, Police and APF departments. — HNS
