Ritchie grab late point for Bournemouth vs West Brom in EPL

BOURNEMOUTH: Substitute Matt Ritchie scored in the 82nd minute to salvage a 1-1 draw for Bournemouth as the Cherries condemned West Bromwich Albion to an eighth consecutive English Premier League game without a win on Saturday.

The draw left both teams locked on 42 points with one game to play. West Brom was 15th, and Bournemouth 16th, and both teams were safe from relegation.

Salomon Rondon headed Tony Pulis' defensive-minded visitors into the lead on 16 minutes, but a mistake by Claudio Yacob gifted Ritchie the late equalizer with West Brom goalkeeper Ben Foster stranded.

Craig Gardner failed to convert a first-half penalty just before the interval for the Baggies, seeing his effort palmed onto the crossbar by goalkeeper Artur Boruc, as Eddie Howe's Bournemouth ended its three-match losing streak.
