KATHMANDU: A 15-member rugby team, including 12 players, is leaving for Qatar to take part in the Asia Rugby Development Sevens Series slated to be held at the Aspire Stadium in Doha on March 3-4.

The squad comprises of skipper Nabin Giri, vice-captain Krishna Chhetri, Birat Shrestha, Sriram Shrestha, Prem Bahadur Koirala, Biratjung Aidee, Nirmal Lama, Sunil Malla Thakuri, Gajendra Bahadur Rana, Ashok Shahi, Bikram Puri and Sanish Maharjan.

Team manager Gopal Chhetri, coach Hari Tamang and physiotherapist Dhruba Upreti will also accompany them to Doha. A total of 11 nations will take part in the event. National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista bade farewell to the team on Monday.
