Shahi wins bronze in World C’ship
Kathmandu, October 6
Nepali bodybuilder Rujesh Shahi won bronze medal in the ninth WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship in Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia today.
Shahi came third in the men’s 60kg weight category, according to Nepal Bodybuilding and Fitness Association General Secretary Rajan Shrestha. A total of 11 contestants competed in the category with bodybuilders from Myanmar and Malaysia coming first and second respectively.
Shahi had won silver bronze medal in the 55kg event during the seventh edition of the championship held in Thailand in 2015.
Another Nepali bodybuilder Kamal Bhandari was knocked out from the pre-judging round in the 55kg weight category, while Nanita Maharjan is scheduled to compete in the women’s athletic physique event on Sunday.
