JHAPA: Rupandehi-XI came from a goal down to beat Morang-XI 3-1 and advanced to the quarter-finals of the second Satakshi Gold Cup Football Tournament here on Friday.

Centric Aba, Amar Dangol and Bijay Dhimal scored one goal each for Rupandehi after Sunil Khadka had opened the scoring for Morang in the 15th minute. Khadka opened the scoring following a cross from Manish Thapa.

Rupandehi’s Aba levelled the tally in the 54th minute after receiving a cross from Rupesh KC, while Dangol earned a 2-1 lead for Rupandehi in the 74th minute when he headed home Aba’s cross. Dhimal then sealed the victory with a goal in the injury time.

Rupandehi’s Aba was named the man-of-the-match and got Rs 10,000. On Saturday, Nepal APF Club will take on Nepal Police Club.
