SA Games medallists felicitated
KATHMANDU: The 11th South Asian Games taekwondo and karate medallists were feted at separate programmes on Saturday.
Karatekas Sunil Lama, Binod Shakya and Ganga Adhikari had won gold while Anu Adhikari and Binod Maharjan had claimed the silver medals. Kushal Shrestha won the kumite bronze and was also a member that won the men's team kata. Balaju Karate-do Academy awarded them with cash prizes.
While the product of the Academy Sunil and Anu was presented with Rs 100,005 and Rs 50,005 respectively, Binod Shakya and Ganga were handed over Rs 15,005 each. Likewise, silver medallists got Rs 10,005 each and bronze winners Rs 5,005.
Meanwhile, Satyal Publications Pvt Ltd also felicitated 11th SA Games taekwondo medallists with cash rewards. Nepal had won two gold (Deepak Bista, Ayesha Shakya), two silver (Kumar Manandhar, Manita Shahi) and two bronze medals (Dan Bahadur Airee, Yan Kumari Chaulagain) in Dhaka. Gold medallists were awarded with Rs 50,000 each while silver and bronze winners received Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000.
